Update Your Membership

Making changes to your My Best Buy™ membership.

Changes to your membership should be made at a Best Buy store. As a member, you can change from My Best Buy Plus™, My Best Buy Total™ or My Best Buy to another type of membership. If you are changing from My Best Buy Total to My Best Buy Plus or My Best Buy, you will lose certain protection benefits and other benefits.

Changes in member benefits.

If you are moving from My Best Buy Total™ to My Best Buy Plus™ or My Best Buy™, you will lose the included protection plan coverage for the products you purchased from Best Buy as a Total member.

You can update your membership by calling Best Buy Customer Care at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).

Depending on when you change your type of membership, you may be entitled to a refund as follows.

Within the first 60 days of the initial purchase, or any renewal term, you will be entitled to receive a refund for the full value of the amount paid for your yearly membership minus the value of any membership discounts, services or benefits already provided during the then-current term. As part of this, you will also be entitled to a full refund of the portion of the membership fee that paid for your protection plan benefits, except that a deduction may be made from such amount for repairs or replacement costs incurred during the then-current term.

After the first 60 days, you will be entitled to receive a prorated refund based on the number of days remaining in the billing year beyond the cancellation date and minus the value of any membership discounts, services or benefits already provided during the then-current term. As part of this, you will also be entitled to a prorated refund of the portion of the membership fee that paid for your protection plan benefits, except that a deduction may be made from such amount for repairs or replacement costs incurred during the then-current term.
