Was looking for a compact wireless bluetooth speaker to have outside when we have camp fires and decided to try the Sylvania 8 Premium Rugged 360 Sound Water Resistant Bluetooth Speaker. The speaker is small, easy to carry, has a nice design and seems to be made very well. The speaker has a lithium rechargeable battery that took about two hours to charge. Turned on the speaker and my Android phone instantly picked up the speaker and connected with no issues. This little speaker puts out decent sound for its size. The sound level is comparable to one of those round devices that you talk to. The box states "Bis Sound With Deep Bass"... I think it is okay bass, not deep. You have some bass when the button side of the speaker is facing you. The opposite side of the speaker seems louder with less bass. There is a rubber loop attached to the speaker which can be used to hang the speaker on whatever you want. There is a USB cable provided for charging the speaker but it is only around 12" long... would be better if it was 4' long. Overall, this is a nice little speaker to play music wherever you go and is water resistant. It is also supposed to be rugged, but we will see if I ever have a mishap.

Nice Little Speaker

I wasn't sure what to expect from this speaker but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it sounds. Set up was super easy. All I had to do was press one button, connect it to my iPad, and that was it. I have used other bluetooth products in the past that were a pain to connect but this was a breeze. I like that the buttons are large and raised so you can feel which one you are pressing if you can't see them. You get almost 360 degree sound except for the small part in the back where the buttons are. There is a rubber hook at the top of the speaker if you want to hang it too. Very versatile!

Great Sound and Easy to Set Up

This speaker is perfect. Linked up to my phone with no problem!
FM radio doesn't come in to well where i live so i wasn't expecting much on that.
The volume on the speaker controls the volume on your phone and vice versa
I like that there is a loop you can hang it from anywhere. It has great 
Sound and self explanatory buttons. Play, pause, up and down.
I still haven't explored all of it's features. I'll keep you posted.
It charges with a micro usb cable and i believe it has an auxillary plug
To use it manually. It is a nice weight great sound!

Beautful

This speaker is great. I'm amazed how easily got connected and the sound is excellent. My husband knows the brand (I didn't) and he said he wasn't surprised how great it was because the brand makes excellent things. I love it and use it for music and enhance the sound when I watch videos on my phone. Compact size beautiful minimalistic design.

Great!

This speaker is sleek looking and lightweight so it's easy to carry around. The little carrying hook is a nice feature because I can hang it up if I want to. It's great for outdoor and/or pool side parties. The built in FM radio is pretty cool since I do like to listen to the radio in the morning so I can leave this in the bathroom. Overall a well designed speaker with excellent functions!

Great waterproof bluetooth speaker

I love this speaker, it is easy to use and very portable. We use it for pool side because it is water resistant and rugged. The feature that I like most about it is that you can change the volume from the actual speaker rather than having to grab your phone and get your phone wet. The sound quality is superb and the speaker is built to last. Easy to pair with your phone and the battery lasts a good while too before you have to recharge it. The little loop on top is also a nice added feature for hanging it on things like a shower hook. Take your music wherever you want with this Sylvania portable speaker.

Pool speaker to go

This is a good, basic Bluetooth speaker with an acceptable sound quality. It has a simple push button front panel that is easy to understand without a lot of frills and unnecessary extras. It feels sturdy and durable. I plan to use it outdoors during warm weather because it it water resistant and smaller in size.

Great basic speaker

Overall, I am pretty happy with the Sylvania 8 premium rugged 360 sound water resistant bluetooth speaker. The black color is really nice. I love the cylinder shape and how lightweight it is. It's easy to take anywhere because of how lightweight it is and because of how small it is. The large control button makes it easy to operate. I love that it's bluetooth because it makes it easy to use with my bluetooth-enabled devices. I love that it has a rubberized design because it not only looks great, but it seems to really help protect it. The carrying hook is really convenient and easy to use. It has a rugged design and I love that it is water resistant to withstand rain, splashes and grime. It's the perfect size to take to the pool, beach, travel, etc. I like that it has a built in rechargeable lithium polymer battery and it doesn't take too long to fully charge. I think the sound quality is really nice and it has a pretty good volume range. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality, portable, water resistant speaker that will work with your bluetooth devices!

Good product!

This speaker is lightweight and weighs 1 pound 2.9 ounces, It measures 8 inches tall and 3 inches wide. A micro-usb cable comes with it and it measures 14 inches long. To turn it on and off you will press and hold the circle button at the top of the panel on the front of the speaker.

The sound is very good for a small portable speaker. When turned up to maximum sound there is not a lot of distortion. To get the most sound in your room or area you will want to turn the speaker with the buttons to the back.

There is an instruction sheet that comes with it (1 English and 1 French), it is broken into 7 sections – the print is a little small, but easy to understand.

There are three modes – Bluetooth Mode, FM Radio Mode, and Aux-in Mode. 

Bluetooth Mode is simple to pair, turn it on and press the Bluetooth button. Then connect your device to “SYLVANIA SP1043”. You do not need to enter a code, and if set up properly it will pair with your device every time you turn on the Bluetooth.

FM Radio Mode just takes a few steps to get it set up. Once it is on a short press of the ON/OFF will turn on the FM Radio. To set up the available stations you will press the Play/Pause for a few seconds (long press). It will store a maximum of 30 stations. The bad part is that for me it saved static stations in addition to actual tuned in stations. I was only able to get about 10 stations. I ran the set up inside and outside with about the same results.

Aux-mode will require a 3.5 mm cable. The instructions say “supplied”, but my speaker did not come with one. It is very easy to connect to devices that have the 3.5 mm port. 

The speaker comes with a 90 day warranty.

Nice sound for a small portable speaker

Not very loud and started ticking within 4 min!   I played 2 songs on it for the very first time, after fully charging it.  It wasn't too hard to pair, I'd done that yesterday but didn't play music because the TV was on.  It WONT STOP TICKING!  I made a video but can't upload here. Tried power off and turning volume down.  
I like to play my music loud so I can't hear myself singing along, so was hoping the Sylvania name would bring high quality. Nope.
