For grinding peanuts, when you put nuts through a coffee grinder they are crushed and heated due to friction, this will release the oils into the coffee grinder and create a gooey mess. I like this coffee grinder, but water easily gets trapped between the plastic and metal parts of the coffee basin part of it. Makes it super hard to clean. After a while the metal starts to rust. Any trapped food particles can also lead to mold.

Cracked within a month. The plastic container is so wide and smooth that is hard to remove from the base without squeezing. Used daily for less than a month, hand washed. Two cracks from bottom to top of the hopper.

Bought this about 4 months ago and it stopped working after a horrible grinding sound. It appears the motor buned out. Could not restart even after letting it sit for awhile. This unit is a piece of junk and is very loud also. Does not grind the beans all the way even on a higher setting. Would not recommend this to anyone.

The grinder is louder than my old Braun coffee grinder. Medium grind is more like a coarse grind. Cleaning is a nightmare. Whole beans stuck under the plastic rotating piece. Can not remove the plastic piece. Going back to using my old Braun coffee grinder. These belong in the garbage.

This is the second grinder I've bought this year. The first one cracked within 3 months. This one within 2. Emailed Mr. Coffee. After looking at this reviews, it is obvious they don't care about their manufacturing out of China.

Poor quality - the cover started becoming loose and never stayed in place when switched on. Having to hold the lid in place - to have it work was tedious. Also the cup got stuck and could not be removed. It’s been a hassle

Dummy loud with inconsistent grinds

First off, this is WAY louder than the Krups this replaced. I could live with that if it ground coffee (the only thing I grind, can't speak to spices) well, but alas! It consistently is leaving behind whole, intact beans and inconsistent grinds. The twist cup mechanism is fine but finicky and sometimes sticks, which makes me wonder how long it'll last. The lid is also a twisting lock mechanism but seems more consistent, to its credit. But the cup has little cutouts between the metal and plastic housing where grounds get in and from which I cannot get them out, so after the first use or two it looks dirty in a way that can't be cleaned. Frustrating. Overall for $30 it's fine (and medium, and course...), but I am already after just a month of use thinking about a replacement. Pros: + available in a pinch from your local store + does technically grind coffee + price is just okay + "automatic" grinding is...a feature? I guess? (is it that hard to hold down a button for ten or fifteen seconds in exchange for a better grind?) Cons: - grinds inconsistently - so dang loud - cannot fully clean Overall verdict: just save and get something slightly nicer if you can wait.

Nice to push a button and walk away. An upgrade from holding a button the whole time because I often would accidentally let go, which messes up the timer. The plastic is thin which makes the process quite noisy, the only reason I chose 4 instead of 5 stars.

Removable cup was no longer removable after about a month, but twists on the base triggering the auto shut off. I still use it as it will work if I push down on the lid when it’s operating. Shopping for a new one.

Bought this yesterday, grinder bowl does not detach at all. I can't turn it counter clockwise or clockwise. It seems glued. Going to get a different one.

Do not recommend. So loud. Poor design leads to grinds everywhere. Removable hopper no longer removes so entire grinder needs to be lifted to dump. Different grind settings don’t make much of a difference

Our Mr. Coffee grinder gave out after four years of use, so we figured to get another Mr. Coffee. However, this one is extremely loud on all settings. The grounds stick to the top of the lid, which I hadn't realized. It is too bulky, and it doesn't have a setting for 8 cups. There are coffee grounds after brewing, which wasn't always the case. It gets the job done, but not efficiently or soundly.
