Menades 157" Cantilever Outdoor Umbrella

Amazingly sturdy umbrella that is very flexible in how it can be positioned. It's also less expensive on Wayfair than on the site for the manufacturer, by quite a bit. Caution: the instructions for assembly are absolutely wrong. You will not be able to put this together if you follow the steps in the order suggested. Assembling the base fully and then adding the weights means that the heavy metal seat for the umbrella will not fit. There is absolutely no give. Instead, loosely add the screws for the bottom plate, and alternating ones for the site plates. Then, screw in the umbrella seat. At this point, you can tighten all screws and add the sand bags. On another popular site, this is listed as a frequently returned item, almost certainly because of this issue.

I love this umbrella! So much that I ordered a second one a couple weeks after assembling the first. Instructions were shockingly easy to follow. Everything was well packed in an organized manner and straightforward to assemble once you have an extra hand for mounting the umbrella rod in the base. Game changer this summer. The shade covers our pool so well that I can forgo the extra sunscreen. This umbrella is awesome with its ability to adjust with ease. Only challenge is wind.

I love the umbrella and base, very sturdy. We had an issue with our base, the spring that allows for the umbrella to lock and not rotate was stuck. We search for detailed instructions on line of video for the Pluto model, nothing found. We figured it out when we unscrewed the rotating base, turned it upside down and applied WD40. Due to this inconvenience and lack of detailed instructions I only rated it a 4 out of 5.

This is a well constructed outdoor umbrella. The base is an improvement over my previous plastic eyesore. The umbrella itself is huge. The mechanisms to adjust the height and various angles are easy to maneuver. It was easy to assemble. While it has extra poles on each side to help stabilize the canopy, I do not find it suitable for strong winds. Ultimately, I love the umbrella. I just keep it down on windy days.

This umbrella is amazing quality! The base has room for plenty of sand (or rocks in our case) and looks great too. The umbrella is so smooth to open and close ~ we expected it to be more difficult to operate. We could not ask for a better umbrella!

Second purchase of this brand mainly due to quality, coverage and functionality. Easy to assemble too!

This umbrella is fabulous and the quality is top-notch. It takes about an hour to unpack and assemble. I am thrilled with so many things about this umbrella: the winding mechanism, the umbrella fabric, the rolling base, and a cover are all included. There are sand bags that will need filling with sand (not included) when you position the umbrella to weigh down the base to ensure stability. Everything about this umbrella is top quality. I highly recommend it and would give more stars if I could!

Reasonably easy to assemble, and high quality materials. All things considered a good value. Stable if you have enoguh weight in the base, and the slide stabalizer rods are a nice addition.

Great base and easy install. The fabric for the umbrella itself seems somewhat lower quality. The mechanical system is really solid though. Overall good value.
